Eutori

As a student of luxury hospitality I've been intrigued by a fascinating trend: there is a collective longing for experiences that adds meaning to their lives, promote well-being, and feel genuine. Traditional signs of luxury like abundance and opulence aren't resonating like they used to.

So what is considered luxury in modern society?

Modern luxury transcends mere material quality or outward aesthetics. It flourishes when there's a deeper connection, when the beholder appreciates something with soul and authenticity. It's about being fully present, embracing gratitude, and finding richness in the intangible aspects of life.

Sadly, our society often neglects the value of slowing down and noticing the world around us, prioritizing the pursuit of external achievements over cultivating humility and inner fulfillment. This way of living constricts the inner space within our hearts.

However, through my exploration of Japanese tea ceremony, I've discovered a profound sense of solace. It's in the simplicity of being present with others, in embracing self-acceptance, and in cultivating a shared harmony that I've found true richness. This journey has ignited within me a deep appreciation for the rustic beauty found in life's simplest moments.

For me, the way of tea has become more than just a practice—it's a guiding path. Amidst the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and the complexities of young adulthood, it serves as a beacon of tranquility and balance.

At the heart of tea ceremony there lies 4 fundamental principles:

和 harmony

敬 respect

清 purity

寂 tranquility

values that guide not only the rituals within the chashitsu (tearoom) but also echo through other aspects of life.

From these timeless principles, I aim to illuminate the treasures of sadō, inspiring others to embrace a life with inner spaciousness, or yutori. By sharing its relics, I hope to foster mindfulness and the recognition that true luxury often resides in life's simple moments and spaces.

The heart of ancient Japanese tea ceremony remains relevant and essential for the wellbeing of humanity today.

In homage to our ancestors, Eutori celebrates the spirit of Japanese tea ceremony.

Its true value transcends time, carried forward by the love and reverence of those who cherish it.
